Peña Blanca (2687m) is an incredible viewpoint along the French border. From here we begin this marvelous descent through a barren high alpine landscape.
From the peak we drop into the higher parts of the Riomajou valley, one foot in France and the other in Spain. Straddling the border until we arrive at the historical “Puerto de la Madera¨ mountain pass where lumber was exported on horseback from the Chistau valley to the Aure valley.
At this point, the single track is incredible. Flowing at high speeds with amazing views of the Posets and Cotiella Massifs that will make your jaw drop. First through the loose shale of a lunar landscape and then into the forests, with root drops and bermed curves to please the rider all the way to the creek crossing at Bachimala. Then, into an area of rolling terrain untill we arrive in Plan, to enjoy a well-deserved beer in celebration of a memorable day.
